TOURNÉE D’ADIEU

« Tournée d’adieu » takes the concept of the music industry’s “farewell tours” and adapts it to the theatre to present Gilles Poulin-Denis’s last ever performance. Because death can happen at any moment, Gilles has decided to create his last solo show now to be able to wrap up his artistic practice correctly before his demise…whenever that will be.

With Tournée d’adieu, 2PAR4 addresses with humour the transformation of the actor’s body over time and through health issues, and how to co-exist with a possible shortened life span. Like the music industry’s farewell tours, Gilles will revisit certain aspects of his career with humour and humility (his artistic endeavours are more modest than Elton John’s). But Gilles’s ongoing career offers an overview of how the career of one artist evolved overtime and across the country, especially within to Canada’s minority francophone theatre communities.
